What and who is an art patron?

1. a person who is a customer, client, or paying guest, esp. a regular one, of a store, hotel, or the like.
2. a person who supports with money, gifts, efforts, or endorsement an artist, writer, museum, cause, charity, institution, special event, or the like: a patron of the arts..
For us artists... an art patron (art collector) is often our life blood... not in the sense that we need patrons to create art... we're going to do that anyway... we need art patrons to help us pay our electric bill, buy our art supplies, and many times.. eat!
Who are art collectors? They encompass a wide variety of people ranging from the sweet old lady next door to corporate CEOs.
If you are an art collector... Thank you! What would the art world be like without you? Our museums and galleries would be empty, artists would lose a platform to grow from, and all our lives would have less meaning. Many times you are the wind beneath our wings and give us the opportunity to share our creations... and eat!
What is an art affiliate?
af-fil-i-ate.... [ n. uh-fil-ee-it, -eyt]noun
1.... a branch organization.
2.... Commerce.a. a business concern owned or controlled in whole or in part by another concern.b. a subsidiary.
3.... a person who is affiliated; associate; auxiliary.
Simply put... an art affiliate is my partner/promoter... much like the gallery owners who show/sell my work and get a percentage of those sales. In fact... this program started as my way of giving back in appreciation to all those who purchase and talk about my paintings. My art affiliates earn and deserve a commission... after all... you guys are my extended gallery to the world. Thanks!
Why does Bernie offer an art affiliate program?
I came up with this program as a special "Thank You" for all the people who help share my work with the world. I am constantly working on ways to market my artwork and it dawned on me... why should my galleries be the only ones to make money from my work?... read more....
How I Market My Art...
I sell my paintings through art galleries who represent me and my work. These brick and mortar locations with live people are a valuable asset to any artist however many times they are limited by location.
The majority of my work is self-represented... meaning I work hard to market it through my website, other online venues, art shows, exhibits, etc. Self-represented may not be the best term... after all... most of my work is collected by art patrons who have heard about my work from other art patrons or simply put... word of mouth. I am indebted to these voices and have decided to reward them through this affiliate program.
How does Bernie's art affiliate program work?
Share my artwork with your family, friends, and acquaintances through your blog, website, email, word of mouth, etc... if they purchase a painting you earn a commission.
How much $cash$ will I make?
A 20% commission will be paid to you via PayPal for every painting you sell. You may use the 20% commission as a discount if you are purchasing the work for yourself. You must sign up as my art affiliate first... info below.
How do I become an art affiliate for Bernie?
Simply email me your name, address, and phone number (this personal info will be kept confidential) requesting to be my art affiliate and I will add you to my Art Affiliate mailing list. You will receive updates when new paintings and info are added to this blog. You do not have to be my art patron already to join... this affiliate program is open to anyone, individuals, organizations, galleries, etc.

Didnt know where else to post this but Bernie R's page on his octagon comparison blog, uses quite a few, if not all of the pictures he just swiped from the Octagon House inventory Page.
ReplyDeleteDont believe he should do that without at least asking. A couple are copyrighted by owners who lent them. Just because you link to the page doesnt mean you can just help yourself to the pictures.
